Yvette Baharyans is a Senior Human Relations Consultant at the Los Angeles County Human Relations Commission. As a dedicated member of the LA vs Hate Team, along with her highly experienced team members, Yvette is instrumental in building coalitions to stand against hate and providing needed services to those who are targeted. Boasting an impressive 15-year tenure within the mental health sector, she has worn many hats, including those of a licensed mental health clinician, community advocate, and life coach, providing invaluable support to individuals grappling with substance abuse and severe psychological disorders. Her influence extends to the media realm, where she has served as a compassionate TV host, striving to foster an understanding of mental disorders, addiction, and dual-diagnosis behaviors among the Armenian and Persian communities.
During her tenure as a mental health clinician, Yvette made significant contributions to esteemed nonprofit organizations, including Pacific Clinic and D’Viel Family Youth Service. Her role as a licensed clinical counselor and supervisor has seen her take on crucial responsibilities, including the supervision of interns within the CalVIP (California Violence Intervention and Prevention) funded program. Notably, she has been a staunch advocate for effective violence reduction initiatives, implementing programs aimed at curbing gang activities and high-risk behaviors among high school students in the City of Pasadena and Glendale. In her capacity as a supervisor, Yvette has played a pivotal role in enhancing the knowledge and skills of her team members in behavioral therapy, emphasizing cultural competence, equity, and fairness.
