Valentina D' Alessandro

Valentina D’Alessandro (she/her/hers) is a Senior Human Relations Consultant on the LA vs Hate Team. Prior to this position, she was the manager of the Older Adults Program at the Long Beach LGBTQ Center, where she led a team in offering social and supportive services from a trauma-informed, person-centered, and anti-ageist approach. Valentina was also a commissioner for the Los Angeles County Commission on Older Adults. Previously, she managed the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Out for Safe Schools® campaign, where she supported over 30 national School Districts in creating a safer and more welcoming school climate for LGBTQ students. She worked closely with the Los Angeles Unified School District’s “Human Relations, Diversity and Inclusion” Team to create support services for LGBTQ students, teachers, and advisors of LGBTQ clubs. Valentina is an Italian immigrant. Her LGBTQ advocacy work started in Italy, where worked at Arcigay, Italy's foremost national LGBT rights organization, the LGBTQ Center of Bologna, and the GAY LEX Law Firm. Valentina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Bologna and later studied Neuropsychology at the University of Trento.
