Porter Gilberg

Porter Gilberg (he/him/his) is a seasoned non-profit leader with more than a decade of experience in organizational management, administration, budgeting, program development, human resources, fundraising, large-scale events, communications, and advocacy. As Executive Director for The LGBTQ Center Long Beach, he was responsible for a more than fivefold increase in the organization’s annual budget, increasing staff from 3 to more than 25 employees, growing the organization into the top 25% of LGBTQ community centers in the United States.

Gilberg also has extensive experience creating and securing equitable policy victories for marginalized populations within municipalities, law enforcement, K-12 schools, and universities. He is an expert trainer on workplace inclusion and hate violence and has led trainings for many cities and organizations. Through an extensive partnership with the League of California Cities, Gilberg served as a principal author on a workplace inclusion guide that continues to be utilized by municipalities across California.

Currently Gilberg works as a director for a regional political consulting firm and continues to provide strategic consulting services to nonprofit organizations and businesses across Southern California.

Gilberg was appointed to the Commission by and represents the Fourth Supervisorial District.
