Joshua Tanamachi Parr

Mr. Parr has been on the Commission staff since 2005, emphasizing the principles of youth leadership development to pursue social justice projects in issues ranging from homelessness, to the school-to-prison pipeline, to immigrant rights. A trained mediator, Josh facilitates sustainable collaboratives that address root causes of human relations issues. Combining interests in the arts, wellness, and social justice, he seeks to catalyze self-realization and creative participation in underserved and vulnerable populations throughout Los Angeles County.

Currently, Mr. Parr is working on programs to improve police-community relations.
