
Aneisa Bolton

Aneisa Bolton, a native of Long Beach, California, is Manger of the Human Rights Monitoring and Advocacy Team. She leads efforts to promote and protect human rights of all LA County residents. Growing up in a vibrant multi-cultural community, she developed a deep appreciation for diversity and inclusivity, which she brings to her professional endeavors that include over twenty years enhancing criminal justice and human relations.
Aneisa began her career as a teacher in the Compton Unified School District. She then joined Peace Builders as the Director of Training, where she spearheaded violence prevention and anti-bullying programs across various school districts in the United States. In this role, she successfully developed comprehensive curricula and training programs designed to foster peace, harmony, and inclusion among K-12 students.
Her extensive background also includes managing reentry programs for youths and adults. Through her innovative Camp to Community program, she facilitated the transition of youths released from probation camp into Long Beach by providing essential work readiness training, paid work experience, and supportive services. Additionally, during her twelve-year tenure with the LA County Probation Department, she implemented training initiatives that enhanced probation officers' communication skills, promoting therapeutic approaches to supervision and reducing recidivism.
Aneisa holds a Master of Arts degree in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, and Peacebuilding from California State University, Dominguez Hills, with a specialization in mediation. To further refine her mediation skills, she completed mediation training with the LA County Bar Association and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Throughout her graduate studies, Aneisa actively contributed to social justice initiatives and served on the City of Long Beach Hate Crime Response Team and the Youth and Gang Violence Prevention Task Force.
